Missons & outreach

Hope Community Church believes in doing all we can to care for the spiritual and physical needs of the people in our community and supporting those who do the same worldwide.

In addition to providing many services within our community, we are also committed to giving 10% of our annual budget to support ministries all over the world on a monthly basis.

  • COMMUNITY GARDEN

Each summer, Hope is able to provide fresh produce to local ministries by maintaining a garden with a variety of vegetables.

Want to get involved? A group of volunteers begins prepping the garden in April and works throughout the summer to plant, maintain, and harvest. You can sign up online if you are interested in learning how you can help.

  • FOOD PANTRY

On the third Tuesday of every month at 3pm, Hope Community Church hosts the Feeding America mobile food pantry in our parking lot (rain or shine). Anyone with a genuine need for food assistance can come and receive fresh food for their family at no cost.

Want to get involved? We are always looking for volunteers to help setup and distribute food. Contact the church office for details.

  • HOLIDAY GIVING

Every year, Hope adopts several families in our community and provides them with complete Thanksgiving dinners and/or Christmas gifts in the days leading up to the holidays.

Want to get involved? Watch for information in November about how you can donate food or gifts.

  • MISSION TRIPS

Hope sends out teams for short-term missions work each summer, to serve alongside our ministry partners. Most recently, a team from Hope has served at Pass Creek Church in South Dakota.

Want to get involved? Watch in the spring for information on our next mission trip opportunity.

  • PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

Shawls and other items are handmade by our Prayer Shawl group and given to people to offer comfort during a difficult time.

Want to get involved? The group meets on Wednesdays from 6:30pm to 8pm at Hope. Anyone is welcome to come and crochet.

  • WEENIE WEDNESDAYS

Each Wednesday evening in August from 5-7pm, we get together at Spero House in downtown Niles for a community meal. Anyone is invited to join us for some hot dogs and good conversations!

Want to get involved? We need people to help cook and serve the meals. Contact Pastor Nathanael if you are interested.

MISSION PARTNERS

  • CHILDREN OF PROMISE

    Global

Every child deserves a chance to dream about the future, to experience joy, and to know God’s love. At Children of Promise, they call this wholeness, and it is their calling to make a life of wholeness possible for children around the world.

Children have the best chance at wholeness when they have their basic needs met and when they are part of a loving community. Children of Promise’s local leaders in more than 30 countries around the world identify children in their communities who would benefit from child sponsorship. This ensures the support provided to sponsored children makes the biggest possible impact in their lives. Together we are all working to bring hope and wholeness to children in need.

  • SPERO HOUSE

    Niles, Michigan

Niles is a great little city! Just like all great cities there are challenges. One challenge we face is that of individuals struggling to beat addictions, single parent homes, and poverty. Spero House believes that there is hope for everyone (Spero is Greek for the word hope) and it starts with kindness and ends with direction & wholeness. Spero House seeks to labor at this very thing, through charitable offerings, such as helping individuals through hunger, encouragement and life direction in the greater Niles area.
